A shared family screen should show useful information to everyone while keeping personal content specific to each user. In its October 13, 2026 announcement of HomeView, Apple describes a display that combines home controls, media, and user profiles. In the U.S. Apple Store, both the tabletop model and the wall-mounted version cost $299.
HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and comes in tabletop and wall-mounted versions. It supports Siri AI, FaceTime, Messages, music, and control of compatible accessories. Setup and registration of household members require a compatible iPhone or iPad running up-to-date software; access to some features depends on region, language, connected devices, and subscriptions.
A shared display, personal profiles
HomeView can recognize up to six registered users and show each one a separate home screen with apps and widgets. Apple says content from Messages and Calendar appears when the device recognizes a registered user’s face, their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby, and it was recently unlocked. Setup and user registration require a compatible iPhone or iPad with the latest software.
A compatible device is required for setup and multiuser mode. General Siri AI capabilities—including answering questions, natural conversation, and improved music search—are also available to people without an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence. For Siri requests using personal context, such as information from Messages and Calendar, Apple requires a paired iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence, up-to-date software, Siri AI enabled, and a supported language.
Siri AI and personal context
Apple says Siri AI on HomeView will answer general questions and help users find music. When paired with an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, Siri can use personal context, such as information from Calendar and Messages, to provide personalized answers and take action in apps. Siri AI on HomeView is announced as part of software version 27.2 beta; some features depend on region and may have daily limits.
Siri requests may be processed on the device or through Private Cloud Compute. Apple says data processed through Private Cloud Compute is not retained and is inaccessible to the company. The camera and microphone use Secure Exclaves on the A18 chip—isolated environments that process this data separately from the rest of the system. These details describe the security architecture presented by Apple.
Home controls, cameras, and media
HomeView controls compatible Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories. Apple lists camera viewing, thermostat and lighting adjustments, door locking, and blind closing among its capabilities. The Home Camera screen can display up to nine video streams at once. With compatible cameras and an eligible iCloud+ subscription, users can identify people, familiar faces, pets, packages, and vehicles, and receive notifications when visitors arrive.
Video summaries of HomeKit Secure Video recordings and natural-language search require an eligible setup and iCloud+ plan. The number of supported cameras depends on the plan. Smart-home accessories are sold separately, and compatibility depends on the specific model.
In addition to home controls, the device supports FaceTime, Intercom, Apple Music, Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV, and compatible third-party apps. For the kitchen, Apple describes a scenario in which HomeView turns a web recipe into step-by-step instructions, helps track ingredients, and lets users control a timer by voice.
Price, availability, and what to check
The U.S. Apple Store lists both the tabletop HomeView and the wall-mounted model at $299. Preorders in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, India, and New Zealand opened on October 13; sales in those countries are scheduled to begin on November 13, 2026. Preorders in Singapore begin on October 15, while the device will be available through authorized retailers in South Africa starting November 13. Apple says HomeView is not yet sold in the European Union. Siri AI on HomeView is announced in English for the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the U.K.; Apple says Canadian French support will be added later in a free software update.
Before buying, check iPhone or iPad compatibility for setup and user registration, support for the cameras and accessories you need, and the iCloud+ requirements for your chosen features. For $299, HomeView combines a family screen, media, and a home control panel; Siri’s personal context and device availability depend on connected devices and region.
